Congratulations to the following children

School Achievements

Well done to Beka P2/3 who wrote a fantastic story at home.  Leah D. P5 also wrote her own story at home following the theme which had been discussed in class.

An excellent achievement for Jai p. [p6] who won the Hawick Cross Country competition and a fantastic 3rd place result for Megan L. [P6] Due to the standings of our other competitors, we came away with the boys trophy and the overall trophy!  Well done to everyone who took part.

Well done to P2 and Miss Scott and Mrs Whillans for winning a Farmhouse Breakfast for the class.  Erin and Chloe went to HQ to receive their certificate and collect their £50 gift token!

 Home Achievements:

Jack B, P2/3, was at the Anchor Boys Burns supper and he decided to take part and learn the poem ‘Selkirk Grace’.  He memorised all the words and stood up in front of all the boys.  Well done Jack.  Taking part in the entertainments will count towards badge work.  

Congratulations to Oliver W. P5 who is now the proud sponsor of a monkey.  He is also saving up to buy heavy duty dog toys!  Well done to Gregor P2. Who can now tie his shoelaces!

School Achievements

Well done to all the Primary 7 pupils who participate in the bag packing at Morrisons.  A grand total of £1097.26 was raised! High praise has been given to the P6, P6/7 and P7 classes for their 'Flash Mob' performance around the town before Christmas.  Thank you and well done to the P7s who supported the Reivers Coffee morning recently by helping serve teas and coffees.

Home Achievements

Well done to Arran C. P3 who played his recorder as entertainment at the 'Welcome Hosts' coffee morning and also at St Cuthberts church.

Martin G. P6 gained the Chief Scouts Award at clubs. Excellent work!

Well done Ellie P7 and Emily P7 for gaining 2 guide badges.  Natalia and Vilmantis P6 have been very considerate and raised money for Zuza.    


September 2013

SCHOOL ACHIEVEMENTS:

Well done to all the boys and Isla for taking part in the PSA competition recently. The P6/7 team did well against some tough opposition. The P4/5 kept spectators on tenterhooks when their semi-final match went to sudden death! Congratulations to the team for trying their best and going on to win the trophy!!!!

The rugby teams were delighted to emerge with medals from the Linden Tag Tournament. After an enthralling semi final the P6/7 team were delighted to receive runners-up medals. The P4/5 excelled in their competition and came away with the trophy for Drumlanrig! 

HOME ACHIEVEMENTS:

Abbie M. P5 won 1st place, four 2nds and a 3rd place at Roberton and Bonchester Flower shows. Abbie had entries in the Flowers, Photography, Decorated Stones and Baking categories. She also won a trophy at the Bonchester Show. Well done Abbie!

Louisa G. P4 won two 1st places, two 2nds and two 3rd places at the Roberton Show. Louisa also won the overall trophy for the children’s section. Excellent effort Louisa!

Gregor B P2 did well to climb to the top of an indoor climbing wall J

HOBBIES:

Chloe B. P4 attended several pony club events and was awarded 3 rosettes and a certificate. Well done Chloe!!

Well done to Chelsea F. P5 who took part in the Hawick Fun Run recently. Great effort Chelsea, well done!

A fantastic achievement for Liam J. P4 who competed in his first Duathlon, a cross country run followed by mountain biking!!

Alex F, from P3, achieved her Level 8 in Swimming! Great effort Alex!

Well done Lewie P3 for passing his swimming level 4 and now on level 5.

Kian N P7 played in front of the Queen at the Braemar Gathering. Kian plays the drums with Langholm Pipe Band. Little sister, Keira, was there to cheer him on!

HOME ACHIEVEMENTS:

Well done to Arran C. P2 and Alex F. P2 for acting responsibly and quickly when a friend was injured in the playground.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the Halloween Poster competition and well done to the winners: Jordan G. P5, Cassie P3, Lewis P2/3 and Chloe I. P1/2. Well done to Owen for organising this, a super start as House Captain!

HOBBIES:

A special achievement for Rodrigo P6/7 who was awarded the Shelley trophy for best P7 player at the Hawick Minis Tournament recently.

Rhea M. P7 recently attended an assessment day in Edinburgh and has been selected to be part of the new Scottish Golf Development Squad. Over the winter, this will involve 30 hours of coaching at the Development Centre as well as 10 hours of workshops in fitness, sports psychology and nutrition.

Sophie A. P5, competed in the Peebles Star of the Future swimming competition and won 2 Gold medals and 1 Silver. She was competing against swimmers a year older than her.

June 2012

SCHOOL ACHIEVEMENTS:

Congratulations to all the children who participated in the Inter school sports. A special well done to the winning girls relay team.

Well done to the Floor Ball team, Lachlann, Olivia, Philippa, David, Chloe S, Rachel S who came second in the Hawick Tournament.

Drumlanrig pupils made a clean sweep at the Vertish Hill Sports. We were winners of the girls relay, Philippa R, Violet C, Emma S & Rachel S; boys relay, Barrie McL, Ronan McK, Hamish M & Ryan M.  The individual girl’s trophy was regained by Philippa P7, individual boy’s trophy was lifted by Hamish P6 and Emma P7 won the skipping trophy. Everyone who took part contributed to Drumlanrig regaining the overall trophy. Well done!!

Well done to all the girls who competed in our friendly Netball matches against Langholm recently. 

An extremely exciting Cricket match saw Drumlanrig lift the league trophy in the playoffs on Saturday. Excellent team spirit and sporting attitude made staff feel very proud of the children. Well done to P7s Barrie, Paul, Lewis R, Ronan, Quinlan, Philippa and P6s Greg & Paul.

HOME ACHIEVEMENTS:

Well done to Olivia P6 who demonstrated great confidence when presenting the medals at the Hawick Rugby 7s.

Well done to all our Nursery children who graduated from pre-school and are now looking forward to starting Primary 1.

HOBBIES: 

Well done to Greg F P4, Eve T P6, and Amy F P6 who completed the MossPaul Rideout. Greg gained his Mosstroopers badge and Amy and Eve were presented with a Mosspaul Rideout badge.

Congratulations to all the children who took part in the Junior Ride and to Rebecca who received 4th prize for the best turned out pony and rider.

Excellent sporting achievement by Rhea P6 who won the Ladies County Golf Championships, Bronze Section, playing 3 rounds of golf to lift the prize money and silver plate. 

A super achievement for Archie Y, P1/2 who successfully followed the Cornet from Denholm back to Hawick on his pony Twirl. 

Congratulations to Philippa P7 who was chosen for team ‘Borders’ in league 2 - winning 100m, relay and coming 3rd in the long jump.


February 2012

An outstanding achievement for David C. p7 who was accepted for the National Youth Choir of Scotland!!!!

Congratulations to the girl’s Netball team who won all of their matches at the Borders Area competition at HHS. This saw them through to the Borders tournament in Galashiels where they reached the final. Well done girls for a great achievement, excellent play and superb sportsmanship!

Well done to everyone who entered the Borders Badminton Tournament. A super achievement for Lewis R. Who reached the quarter finals and Paul G. Who made it to the semi finals. Congratulations to all our P6 and P7 pupils who took part in the cross country competition. Drumlanrig came home with the trophy for the girls’ race and the boys’ race. Well done to Emma S 2nd overall, Philippa 3rd & Rachel S 4th.

HOME ACHIEVEMENTS:
Well done to Parris S. P1 who acted very responsibly in a situation she was faced with.

Well done to Rhian F. P7 who collected 3 medals at Duns swimming competition –bronze for breast stroke, silver for back stroke and front crawl.

In her first swimming competition Rachel S.P7 picked up 2 rosettes for coming first in her heat.

Ava H. P1 passed her level 4 swimming and has moved up to level 5.

Eilidh  J P6 won a prize for distinction in tap dancing she was joint top with Eve T. P6. Well done girls.


January 2012

SCHOOL ACHIEVEMENTS:
The first Staff v Pupils football match was won by the staff. Well done to everyone who took part! Well done to Nicole McW, P7 for winning the Simon Knight Trophy at the end of last term.
The girls played extremely well for the Hawick Netball Cup and reached the semi-final where they were beaten by the eventual winners, Denholm by the golden goal rule!

HOME ACHIEVEMENTS:
Congratulations to Rebecca G, P4 who gained her Horse Riding Badge at Brownies.
Well done to Paul G, P6 for gaining all his challenges at Cubs. As recognition of his efforts he was presented with the Chief Scouts Award.
Martin G, P3/4 showed great courage and confidence when he spoke recently at a family service and read at the church's carols and readings at Christmas.
Ava S, P4 gained her Horse Riding Badge at Brownies. Well done.
Great achievement for Charlotte A, P6 for passing her bronze award in Rooky Lifeguards and completing her first time trials at swimming club.

HOBBIES:
Great achievement for Jenny S, P7 who won a bronze medal in a gymnastics competition recently at Hawick High School.
Lewis R, P7, Phillipa R, P7 and Paul G, P6 who won medals at a recent badminton competition in Kelso.
Congratulations to Megan L, P4 who won 3 medals at a swimming competition in Edinburgh.
Well done to Christy A, P7 who gained an award from Shields Dance Academy for being an outstanding student.
Watch out for Olivia R, P6 and Kay R, P3/4who have gained their yellow belt in Karate. Well done girls.

Drumlanrig Wins High School Maths Competition!

On Thursday 16th Connor M, Ryan J, Haru A and Mikey O from Primary 7 took part in a Maths challenge set by the High School and managed to beat the 6 other schools and win the trophy for Drumlanrig. It was lots of fun and they all enjoyed it a lot. The trophy will be received on Monday 27th at the High School prize giving.
