Drumlanrig St. Cuthbert's Primary School is situated in the south of the town near the site of the original hill settlement of Hawick.  Behind is "Mote Park" with its significant man made ancient fortification.

The building, which was opened in 1960, has a split-level design on three floors with separate access for different classes.  The school has excellent accommodation with facilities and space for good modern education.

A computer suite has recently been completed. Each classroom is networked and has access to the Internet.  Every staff member and pupil has been allocated a password and Email address.  The school pupil/computer ratio is now 1:8.

The school caters for pupils from Nursery to Primary 7 i.e. three to twelve year old pupils.  There are currently 254 pupils on the school roll, organised into twelve classes.

The school population is from a wide catchment area.  As well as children from the town, pupils from the country school of Roberton feed into Drumlanrig St. Cuthbert's at the end of Primary 5.

Our Nursery is situated in the school building and offers morning and afternoon sessions with places for 40 three to four year olds in each session.

A successful Out of School Care Club within the school grounds has been established and offers care for 3-12 year old children from 8.00 9.00 a.m., 11.15a.m. 1.00 p.m. and 3.15 5.30 p.m.
